Biography

Alexandre Dumas, also known as Alexandre Dumas père, was a French author. His works have been translated into many languages and he is one of the most widely read French authors in the world. Born of a French father and an Afro-Caribbean mother, Dumas drew on his mixed heritage throughout his life. His most famous works are The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo, both of which were originally published as serials. His adventure stories were known for their fast-paced plots, colourful characters, and themes of justice and revenge.
